if u want good bulbs get them on ebay i cant remember what they are called they have 2 different gasses in them they are really blue they work real nice when i get home i can tell what kind they r

 

Actually my high beams still work. I was parked in base housing one time and I turned on my high beams and you can actually see that your high beams are working.

 

it sounds like the bulbs are not getting enough power to achieve the proper brightness... I've had a similar problem with my previous car.

 

i'm pretty sure hes just saying that he'd rather have two bulbs, one for high and one for low, rather than one for both..

 

i use my high beams constantly...you can see so much further down the road....

 

i have the silverstar 9007's and use my highs every morning as i go to work.they work just like the reg highs...makes the light brighter and floods out and projects further.i have never had a prob with them...i love them

 

and u would must likely to blind the upcomming traffic....remember to turn it back to lo beams when theres car comming ur way...

 

I noticed that while living in florida and the bahamas. A lot of people left their hi-beams on when people approached from the other side. -very- annoying and dangerous. </rant>

 

when you just replace the bulbs with 9007 they should ALL have HI/LO beams. now if you want to switch to a REAL HID 9007 kit, ur gonna lose ur HI beams.

You were right on the money. My last car had two sets of bulbs, truly high and low. The high beams were like daylight. I have Xenon bulbs now, and while they are nice and crisp and much better than stock, they still don't compare to real high beams.

Bulbs are working great for me, and not too expensive. Really sharp burn temp (around 5000K aka very white).

 

not all the time smok... if u look into Catz systems there are two sets for the 9007. 1 set is 4000k super white and u are able to keep your highs. 2nd set is 7000k i think, and it is the blue color of the bmws headlights and you lose your highs. been checking into em, god they are expensive for lights lol.

 

yes you are right. they do make hi/lo beam HIDs but they are VERY expensive, like 800 dollars. thanks for the correction.

 

the 7000k is probably a real HID conversion. you can't get regular bulbs at that color. the reason HIDs don't commonly have high and low beams is because there is no filament. regular halogen bulbs have two filaments, one for highs and one for lows that take different wattages and reflect at a different angle.
