Need helping with 2012 Mitsubishi Lancer GT

Hi I just bought a brand new Lancer GT and I love this car so far. My plan is to do some work to make this baby go faster. I join this thread to hear from other Lancer owners and see if I can get some kind of help with my car. I been doing some research on parts to help the engine breathe a little better and pick up some hp, but what worries me is how will it fit with other parts. Some of the parts I'm looking at is getting an intake by injen to start off then get an exhaust. Is this a good way to start off or is there another route that I should take instead? Please help me with this. I would really appreciate the help because I have very little to no knowledge about parts.

Sounds like a good plan, thats what im doing with mine as soon as they come out with the parts lol. I plan on getting a K&N Typhoon Intake and a Greddy RS Exhaust to start.

Thinking of getting a 2012 GT, NO ONE HAS ANY PHOTO of there 2012? I dont like the silver trim on the front, has anyone done anything to make it black? Is it possible to purchase one from the dealer that is black and replace the silver one?

I dont think you can order it that way but there are a few ways you can black it out like plasti-dip or black spray paint. But in my opnion plasti-dip is the easiest way

hey there guys I got a 2012 gt and i put a magnaflow off set off set stainless polish exhaust on and it runs and sounds great i have the automatic no manual...th sportronic system is diffrent but it is ccol and i really like my car...i was going to use parts from injen but as for the 2012 model there are not enough parts made yet.... threw my research, I find that as long as you axel back the exhuast and only take the resinator out you should be fine with the warranty still intact, because transmission shifts so quick but also at a low rpm you are in a higher gear and it seams to loose power and starts to lug...I found a cool air intake from takeda with a polish finish as well with a heat shield only for 2.4 liter that will wrok just fine....

That is g@y how they must add that ugly chrome in the front... I don't know why Mits does that... Wouldn't it be cheaper if they had it just plain black instead of chrome????

Plasti-dip is the best solution for that. Many different car guys use it (VW, MITSU, SUBBIE). It's cheap, requires basically no prep, and can be peeled off whenever.
