I painted the grille a week ago and here are some pics.

looks good man, definitely different...btw i'm guessing you sanded down the chrome part and popped out the mitsu logo before painting?

 

yes i scuffed it with 320 grit, primed it with 3 layers, and then put 4 layers of paint and four layers of clear coat

looks really good man. that's basically what i've done to my car (except instead of the red on the car and grill i've got yellow). my opinion may be a little bias but i think it looking ****ing bad ***.

 

That's not a bad job...1st racing stripes I've seen on a Lancer so koodos for originality. Get ready to touch-up within a year though. i Sanded, primed, and painted my stock grill and had to re-do it within the year...I have a RalliArt now so forget ever doing that agaon! But I think yours looks way better than the "Chrome Thong" stock grill.

 

Looks good! Ilike the stripe too. Thought about doing it to mine, but wasn't sure it looked right. Did you paint any interior pieces?

actually, i have seen one other lancer w/a stripe, a white oz w/ 2 blue stripes going down thw middle like yours, i saw it while driving to the mall
