Have any of you heard of using Kevlar in car parts? I found this hood on ebay claims to be made partially of Kevlar and is available in 4 colors!!?!! Anyone have thoughts or info?

yeah, in some cases its stronger then carbon fiber, its called carbon kevlar. and it looks cooler too.

EDIT: its also cheaper to buy the material.

Gonna put this in show and shine.

Carbon kevlar weave is fairly common. I think the normal carbon fiber hoods are carbon graphite (carbon being the black, graphite being the silver). Kevlar, as most people probably know it, is an extremely strong material when tightly woven and is used most commonly in bullet-proof vests. As I understand it, and from looking at the prices of hoods, it's much more expensive than the graphite weave.
