Alright,
Ive already installed my SRI from RRM and i'm looking into carbon fiber hoods. I was wondering if I should go with something with a vent i.e. the erebuni racing style. Does it make much of a difference??

 

it will make a little bit of a difference, but most carbon fibre hoods with the SRI hole will also have the evo style engine vent so your engine will get a little dirty.

 

will rain water of other debris cause the enigine to wear down. or will the only negative be the fact it will get dirty?

 

I don't know about rain water getting into the engine compartment through the vent. One of the other guys on the forum will have to answer that one. I don know, however, that if it does, your hoses will are likely to get worn down faster due to pollution in the rain (acid rain). If you wash the engine compartment though, the breakdown of components can be slowed. I know I need to do this because I have some nice clumps of road salt sitting in my strut mounts.

 

i have had the accolade evo hood, and now i have the vented cf hood...when the water goes into ur engine bay, it will evaporate 'cause your engine bay is hot!
