tail light question

i need some info on
DEPO Mitsubishi Lancer 02-03 Altezza Taillights


Does anybody know where i can get info on DOT Approval and quality

i don't want a fishbowl .....and no...i don't like the look of the TYC series

mitchubishi why post in a topic of you have no valid information that the post requests? Do you honestly have that much free time to troll the boards like that? If you paid any attention what so ever you would have seen that reboot is from Canada and they don't have the evo.

I'm sure by calling the company that manufactured the tail lights you can find out the DOT information you need. Other than that have you tried asking the DOT directly?

first of all...sorry about the wrong forum post...

Second......i called the company and they said it is DOT approved...however they had nothing to back that up


how do i contact DOT?

I believe you would just contact your local office - should be in the phonebook, I would think.

i dont see why it has to be DOT approved. are cops in your area really that **** that you have to get it DOT approved?

Well, I think if I was gonna drop $200 on tails, I guess I'd want to be sure that it was legal. You never know what cop will be prickish.

cops are preatty strict...especially in RICHMOND...part of greater vancouver.....

they have been known to tow the cars to Vehicle inspection if they suspect anythin

You need to find out if the manufacturer includes a DOT approved certificate/card in the box. TYC's come with a Cert'...like a creditcard...stating that lights are DOT legal, and adhere to Federal laws...etc.
