every company that i've talked to keeps giving me the same answer: "they're coming.....soon". i dont know what else to tell you bro. people have no information on date, cost, or what they look like. every time i ask, i get the same answers. "i'm not sure".
I wrote the following letter to OBX as an inquiry to the situation... I've yet to receive a response, but as soon as I do, it'll be posted here.
We're just as anxious as you are
To Whom it may Concern,
A large group of Mitsubishi Lancer owners (affiliates of California car clubs SCLC, CALSLAM, and enthusiast forum evolutionm.net) have become aware of your intentions to produce a projector headlamp conversion kit for our vehicle. We've noticed that you have listed the part on your 2004 catalog as well as on your web site, from which we must deduce that the part is very near final production. There already exists an extensive list of owners just waiting to buy the part as soon as it hits shelves, but we've yet to see it.
The purpose of this letter is to obtain some information, and perhaps apply a little bit of friendly pressure as to the production of this kit. Does OBX still intend on producing a projector headlamp for the 2002-2003 Mitsubishi Lancer? (we are hoping the answer is YES!) If so, at what stage is the current production? Or, more directly, what kind of an estimated wait time are we looking at before the product reaches sales?
We absolutely love the headlight kits that you have available for other vehicles, and are very excited about seeing the production of one for our vehicle, as well. Any information you can provide would greatly comfort an anxious group of enthusiasts.
Sincerely,
Scott Hales

update:
Called OBX, shmoozed the operator and got through to someone in R&D... says the headlights are in production and should be finished in 3-4 weeks.
IMO, take it with a grain of salt, but it's still encouraging...

i hope these are the dual angeleyes, cuz a projector aint a projector without them sweet bluish halos.
on the other hand, if all else fails, and no one actually comes out with one, the stock headlight housing being nice as it is, we can always make a group buy for the HIDs, they cost like 400$. distributed by sharkracing, but made in korea. i'm korean, so i'm very biased, and i will buy products made in my country. they're just as good as made in Japan (for electronics)...as long as they're not made in china or malaysia.
so RMl, keep us posted. :q

will do, man; in any case, i plan on getting HIDs also, even with projectors, if they come out.
from what i've heard, the projectors with stock bulbs don't look too hot.. but with HIDs they're sweet.
