replacing the side blinker bulbs (on fender)

i tried prying it out gently with a flat head screw and ended up chipping a piece.

does anyone here know how to remove the housing properly so that i can get to the bulb?

is it held by a plastic clip that hooks on to the fender? or is it adhesive?

i can nudge it and it works, but i can't get it off.

dont wanna pull too hard cuz i'm afraid to scratch the fender and breaking the plastic housing shell.

let me know.

it's a plastic clip that bends and snaps in place.

it's not so much a prying motion as using the screwdriver to push the clip in so that the piece comes out. you can pry outwards with your fingers once the clip is released. make sure your screwdriver is covered in a soft cloth too.

instead of a screwdriver, try using a credit card... safer on the paint and all... go in from the front bumper.. if im not mistaken thats where the clip is

what he said. use something non metallic, safer on the body paint too. except i go from the back. but it might work both ways.

take a thin flathead screw driver and wrap it 2-3 times in a 100% cotton rag\towel -- i've removed em a few times and never had a scratch\chip! works for me.. goodluck!

EDIT: just push it straight in (from the rear) and then gently tap the handle towards the car to pry it -- it will pop right out

Yo

OH my GOd, guys, it's easy. For those who haven't done it, and for those who did all these crazy stunts just to take the frickin bulb out. Its the easier bulb to replace, you just use a FLATHEAD and pry out the lens, and it comes out easily, and then, u twist the bulb out from the connector, and pull the bulb out. SUper easy, takes like 5 mins at the MOST...Why in the world would u go around the fender, through where the tire is? Or under the hood? It's totally EXTERNAL work.

Incorrect. I did exactly as the manual said and just popped the thing right out of my fender. I think the lens and socket came out as one. Seriously, easiest thing ever.
