Console Lights All-In-One How-To
Here's my work in progress...
So far I have the tach and the speedo done with the EL panels...
You can see the comparison with my old style gauges using stock lighting and the blue transparent plastic
I still have to have them reprinted since the black still lets some light through.
Then I need to stick the inverter somewhere in there and either find the light+ground wire(i know it's one of the cable on the right) or solder a cable onto one of the existing light bulb sockets and plug it into the inverter...

All in all, I would set aside a good two hours. Make sure you have all the bulbs ready to go, because it will be painful if you have to take your dash apart multiple times like me.
All my bulbs were purchased at:
http://*************************
Climate control, ashtray, cigarette lighter bulbs (#74):
http://********************/74.htm
2 for climate control
1 for ashtray
1 for cigarette lighter
Gauge cluster and auto shifter (#194):
http://********************/194.htm
2 for gauge cluster
1 for auto shifter
Do NOT use LED's, light dispersal on LED's is horrid. Only buy normal incandescent filament bulbs with the coloured glass.
Good luck.

hey guys i ran into 2 very serious problems changing the lights in my HVAC. Apparently, 2006 has a different bulb size for the HVAC controls than the other years, which is my first question, what is the size number of these bulbs? This is where my problem got bad. I tried to pull these bulbs out not knowing they were incorrect and it was a 2-pronged thin wire that plugged in, and when i (stupidly) slightly twisted the bulb and the prongs snapped off inside the adapter. Does anybody know where i could find a replacement female plug for these/ know the actual name so i can get from my dealership. Also, if anyone would know how i would go about replacing this it would be greatly appreciated. thank you guys for all your help.
Great How to
This How to was awesome! Looks like i'll have to do this to the ES gauges I now have in my OZ lancer. For some reason when i had it changed from a automatic to a manual the dealership changed the gauge cluster. So no my cluster doesn't match the gauges i have mounted on the pillar, awesome....
