Theres already a couple threads like this but I think theres only a couple ppl on here that have 16"s. 17"s aren't usually much more than 16"s and if your worried about weight who cares, our cars are slow anyways.

you might as well keep the stock 15's, an inch isnt that much better unless you want a better style. I am fine with the stock rims for the rest of my cars life, no need to spend a grand or so on rims/tires when i could use them on my evo recaros. (love them by the way)

I have 16s. Check my registry.

Seriously, why 16s over 17s? Yes, our cars are slow, but, why make em slower? Plus, in my opinion, 17" looks stupid on the most small sedans. Plus, with 17"s you have to know that your speedometer is mostly useless. Third, why change over stock 15"? One word. Width.

Lastly, I wouldn't change anything on my car just because "everyone is telling me that I needed to [insert]". Do what's your style. But, have decent reason for it.

Its not the size of the rim that determines overall diameter, but how tall the tire is. Its called plus sizing. My 17s with 205-45-17s has the same overall diameter as the stock 15s with 195-60-15s. The speedometer would therefore be uneffected. And about the width, you can get wider 15s as well.

You last comment sums up my thoughts though. Do what you want to do. Dont listen to what other people think you should do. Its your car, not theirs.

actually 17s with 205/40/17s are the same as the stock tires. but with your tires the speedo change is only 1.2 mph per 60. so when your speedo says 60 mph you're actually going 61.2 mph, not a big difference at all.

Well, I'm just saying that big difference or small, it's still one more thing to consider. Agreed? Especially for us ES guys who have less wheel diameter to work with.

If you want gold or bronze, you may have to get regular rims and have them powdercoated. Well worth it to look different
