my brakes are squeaking. i took it in to the dealership and they wanted 160 dollars to replace the rotors. they had tiny grooves in them. Do i need brake pads, rotars or both? I dont trust the shady guy in the dealership.

 

do it your self and upgrade it!! cheaper and not too hard!!

 

so do you think i need pads and rotors if the grooves are in the rotors. what do the grooves mean?

 

Its like your rotors isnt smooth. It has "dimples" on it that doesnt give your pads an efficent braking while it isnt touching the rotor completely.

Must be nice.... i asked my dealer why my brakes squeal and he just told me that all of them do it without even looking at my car( i was kinda worried... it only has 24,000 miles on it). Guess they really dont want my buisness then.
