front strut bar

sorry if this has been gone over but I don't have time to look thru everything

what effect will adding a front strut bar (the single one that RRM sells) to an ES model have? I don't have a rear anti-sway bar (that will come later).

Is it worth it or will the car handle funky because of no anti-sway bar?

here's a question... I have an OZ, since it already has a rear bar and I already have the single RRM front bar, will upgrading to the RRM real bar make a significant difference?

i have the rear anti sway bar and it makes a very noticable difference on turns . . . i would reccommend getting it . . . in combination with the front strut bar, the two work really well together . . .

i have strut sway and progress springs i can take corners before breaking loose with my cheap *** yoks at almost 45mph depending on the turn now if its straight 90deg turn thats when it breaks loose quicker but on some gradual turns or so i can go even faster then i good before without feeling like im loosing control if you get all 3 you notice the difference even more its crazy having all 3 and it was the best money spent on my car so far

Lightbulb dont buy strutbar

If you buy a strut bar you have wasted your money and made your car heavier...Swaybars are completly different. They reduce bodyroll , improving handling. Look at your strut towers , they are incorperated into the firewall making them very strong. They wont flex.!!!!

doesnt seem like a waste of money to me . . . i noticed a difference in cornering when i installed my strut bar . . . i think that it was money well spent . . . as far as the weight issue goes, 2 lbs aint gonna really make a difference . . .

Exclamation not possible

Are you telling me you had chassis flex between your strut towers. I find this hard to believe. It might help in a serious crash ???

i too can say that after i installed the strut bar i could tell that difference. I dont think you should knock somethin when 1.) you havent tried it, and 2.) you dont know what your talking about

exactly - - i think that every single person who has added a strut bar has noticed a difference in handling and cornering . . . . so saying that the lancer doesn't need one would be a far fetch

yeah def wayne your way off base. the key to any true performance car is handeling if you dont have that whats the point mostly of all the performance mods you do unless you only like to go in a straight line. but even in those cases it still helps but i guess it's a matter of opinion.

and who knows you may actually go get one now after all these posts and you too can discover the diffrence

Everyone who has purchased strut bar or sway bar has felt that they spent their money well. If Strut bar doesn't work why does an EVO 7 come with one?Struts are in the same place as U.S. Lancer. Ralliart must of thought it looked pretty. I will give this. Their are cars that need or benefit way more from a strut bar than the Lancer because struts are far away from the firewall!

a strut bar will not make any difference in handling and cornering, nor will you notice it at all unless the body has so much flex. even then it should only be noticed when you have it jump like five feet off the ground. but cornering? nah!
