Front Sway?
The 02/03 also has a front sway bar, so as Blacksheep said you should make sure the 04 is actually bigger before you go swapping parts that might just be the same thing.
No, you're probably thinking about the strut bar. The sway bar goes on the bottom and can only be seen from underneath the car. If you're talking about that thing inside the engine bay, you meant to ask about the strut bar.
In that case, this option has been explored and you would have to find a way to mount the middle of the strut bar on the 02/03 because the bracket does not come with the strut bar and is missing from the 02/03 models. Essentially, it would be easier just to get an aftermarket such as the RRM, RMR or PDX bars.

This is my car 04 Lancer 4G94 2.0L VR-X in Australia, same as the Ralliart but with the 4G94. Anyway i am in conjunction with Whiteline Australia in developing parts for the CG-CH Lancer to add to their extensive range. Here are some pictures, so far i have an upgraded front swaybar that i think is 22mm and a upgraded rear swaybar of 20mm. Whiteline springs and koni adjustables will be fitted in the comming weeks. I know Whiteline export to the US they also make front and rear struts as well as everything else to mod/upgrade your suspension for more info visit www.whiteline.com.au

Car came standard with i think an 18mm front and a 15mm rear swaybar as well as front strut that the Ralliart has

you have to get down on your belly and stick you head under the car just behind the front wheel. If you look on top of the control arm you will see a long riser sticking out of the top holding the front sway bar in place with thick black bushings. i will get a pic tomorrow
well anyone who hasnt looked at the front sway bar, it is pretty damn big, not unless your creating a highly modified car will you need to concern yourself with this
another thing, you know the old saying, there is such a thing as too big, if the sway bar is too thick, it can actually snap right off its brackets and just flop there, granted this usually happens in the rear, but if you put in a bar too thick in the front your bound to have issues if your pushing those turns
someone also mentioned design/materials, this is a nother factor, when people are picking bars, its one thing to say 22mm, 24mm, but another to say hollow or solid, each company does it their own way, as i recall the stock rear sway was pretty damn light, probably not entirely solid, but the front on the other hand as i said is pretty damn big
to make a long story short, if your daily driver is a lancer, invest the money on some teins to drop the car, that makes the biggest difference
