If you have low profile tires, there will tracking. That may be the reason why you have some shaking. Also, get your alignment checked.

Tracking is when the tire follows the cracks and grooves in the road.

You have to remember that there is A LOT less rubber and air between your wheel and the ground now, because of that there is less give in the sidewall of the tire giving you a shaky ride. Especially if youre riding on Nankang tires. I work in a tireshop, and I have michelins on my 17s and no matter how many times I balance those things I still get shaking on the freeway. You'll get used to it.

i ordered wheels from wheel max and they sent me wheels mounted and balanced...they are 18 inch wheels...i was driving on the highway..and the steering vibrates like crazy...its only between 60mph and 80mph because when i did 105 mph...i could let go of the steering wheel and the car would ride as smooth as a babys ***...on local roads..its smooth too...but only between 60-80 mph it vibrates like crazy. I took off the weights and got the wheels balanced again...then i found out the right tire was off by 20psi..the left tire was 50psi and the right was 30 psi in the front..so i adjusted tire pressure to 30 psi on both sides and 26 psi in the back on both sides...i stillllllllllllll have the vibrating problem...hubcentric rings were suggested earlier by evom members...but wheel max sends wheels with hubcentric rings to perfectly fit your vehicle..any suggestions? BTW...i torqued my lugnuts to 65lbft.

There not balanced correctly or the rims are bent. Take them back to get them re balanced it took the tire shop to balance mine 6 times before they got it right. Good luck.

i know i have an alignment problem before with my stock wheels and tires....i bought it brand new with an alignment problem..stupid *** dealer wont repair it under warranty even though it wasnt my fault...well...i have 11,500 miles since i bought it brand new in july 03'...could alignment actually cause a lot of shaking/vibration in the steering wheel with 18 inch wheels? because with stock wheels there wasnt a problem.

I used to have shaking in my steering as well when i was on the freeway, and i found out it was because one of my rims was bent, and i eventually blew a tire on the freeway, messed up my rims and had to get new ones. Now there's no shaking whatsoever with my new rims.
