Correcting Toe
Correcting Toe
Ok heres the background.
I have an 03 OZ and have megan springs installed giving me a 2" drop rear 1.8" front. After allowing 5 months for sagging I got a 2nd alignment and everything worked out perfect except for a major problem.
I have a major toe in on the rear tires. The camber was corrected but there is no more room for adjustment for the toe.
I have looked around but havent come up with anything that can correct this problem. Anyone have any suggestions?

Did they actually adjust the toe at the alignment? I ask because the bolts that change toe are hidden behind the arm that holds the tire on. If you're laying under the car with your head pointed toward the front, wiggle yourself up against the tire and look for a nut that's covered in the black undercarriage stuff. There will be a small gauge indicating how much you can move it. They're super tight and hard to get at, but that's what you're looking for.
I'm not going to get into DIY alignments here, you'll have to search for those (they're on evom, you don't have to go far).

alright- what's the degree of toe their machine measured? And did you get under the car and double check that the bolt had indeed been moved? I had a hard time finding it the first time and I knew what I was looking for. I don't trust these alignmnet place monkeys one bit.
1.4 out left rear
1.9 out right rear
specs before
1.4 out left rear
1.86 out right rear
I don know anything about alignments so would them correcting the terrible camber in the rear make it so the toe would be worse then before?
Where exactly is that bolt engineer boy?

That bolt is right where I said it is
Jack up the rear and take off either tire. There'll be a bolt just behind the brake drum at the tire-end of the control arm. I'd take a picture but a) I'm at work and b) I have to pack tonight for my 3 day weekend. You'll find it. And you'll proably find that it hasn't been touched.
Camber changed can effect toe changes. Usually, more negative camber (top of the tire in more than the bottom) generates more positive toe (front of the tire more toward the centerline of the car than the rear of the tire).
good luck!

Ok i am taking it agin on monday and hoping that they can correct the toe, you are right engineerboy because the toe was negative and is now positive after they corrected my camber went from -1.2 to +1.6 which follows what you said. I have the car jacked up right now with a few of my friends and we can't for the life of us find this toe bolt. If you can suggest a place to find a pic I wil be extremely greatful
