Brake Pads At 13k

Ok so i bought my 04 lancer 8 months ago with 274 miles on it. I have about 20% of my break pads left. When did you guys change ur break pads? This seems way too early to me. Mabe the night out at the races are too much for the stock pads?

i have about 40k on mine and they need to be changed... axxis deluxe. the stock pads wear thin quick so that is to be expected. no they are DEFinately not suited for the track

i had my stock pads on til the 60,000 mark and i only used about 50% of the brakes. I had essentially 60,000 left on them. I put on new road race slotted rotors and axxis ultimates and i love them. a little dusty, but i figure i'd rather keep my family alive and have some dust than to not have dust and maybe not stop in time.

Fuuny thing...I finally looked through my entire owner's manual and paperwork the other day. Believe it read that normal wear items (Brake pads and even windshield wipers) can be replaced at no cost within the first 12 months or 12,000 miles. That might be under the warranty section...read up. But the OEM's are **** anyways; get Axxis with at least slotted rotors.

Yes that is REALLY early. I have 30 thousand on my RA and the pads looked brand new when I tookk them off. I have axxis metal masters now along with drilled/slotted rotors. Metal Masters dont make that much dust except for when you first put them on. But after a couple hundred miles or so they arent so bad.
