Tein S-Tech vs. Progress

aight people, i already did a search, and couldnt find a direct answer. i know that tein is a much better quality option for the lancer OZ. and i know that they both lower the car to very similair heights... i want to know which one is stiffer? i am guessing tein is, but im not sure.

ummm....uranium9v has the teins, pm him.
EDIT: also tein promises that the s-techs wont settle more than .2 inches. Apples and Oranges, people on the forum have had the progress springs and have been happy with them, so i ordered the progress springs.

Its like comparing Nike to Reebok. From what I have heard. The progress are OKAY. Nothing fabulous. Tein is well known for putting out superior products. You can get the TEIN SPRINGS for $170 with FREE SHIPPING on the LANCER MARKETPLACE HERE ON THE SITE.

Tein = Japan = Engineered for Japanese cars with proven track record.

I've had Tein S Tech both Soft and Medium. Tein HA and Tein Type Wagon. I'm saving up for the Tein RA soon.

You can see Teins spring rates and just about every spec you could possibly want on their website. I haven't seen the same for Progress, but that's not to say they don't have them somewhere on the net.

yeah, but i know squat about suspension and spring rates and what not and how to compare them. i am just looking for a fairly stiff ride without going to coilover stiffness. all i want to know is which one is stiffer?

EDIT: i found that the tein spring rate in the front is 168lbs per inch. does anyone know progress'? cant find it. and i am presuming that the higher the number the stiffer?

The Tein S Tech Soft springs have a lower spring rate since they are engineered to work with the stock dampers. So if you want a "stiff" ride, I would suggest something else. But if you want a "balanced" ride, I would get the Tein.

Lot of speculation here. Prolly very close to each other. Betting price is really only difference the average guy is going to notice.

Ok, I'll bite (and this time sink my teeth in). I am by no means impressed with the Progress springs. After having been driven around for 1n hour+ of both high speed on the highway (floaty) and on PA back roads (handled similarly to stock) I was not at all convinced they were worth buying. Now keep in mind this is me BEING driven and not on my car, but I certainly didn't think they were anything worth writing home about.

A lot of other people seem to love theirs and swear by them so...well...you judge. I've only been in case with stock, progress and tein ss coilovers (I'll be going to ss coilovers myself in a few months) and I have to say that you're not going to have a significantly better handling car unless you shell out more money for shocks too or for coilovers.
