Tein S-Tech vs. Progress
I think he means sleeved coilovers, pickle. True coilovers are shocks with springs, perches etc. (like the Tein SS or JIC FLT-A2's) whereas sleeves are just springs and threads that sit on an existing shock (i.e. Ground Control, Arospeed & Skunk2).
Sleeves:

True coilovers:

EDIT: And I think he was trying to say that sleeve coilovers tend to be bouncy because they tend to drop the car more and have shorter springs. ...As opposed to just springs which are generally stiffer and longer.

ok i had the progress springs and i was by no means impressed. i stepped up to the SS coilovers and they are solid. they feel very good when at a normal driving height (still lower than stock). lately i have slammed the front to as low as they can go and im dying to raise them up. the ride is rediculously bumpy, not to mention scraping on every turn.
EDIT: my point is that it's not espically the shock/spring combo but the tuning of the ride height. of course if u go too low they shocks are just not made to handle. if you do get the coilover sleeve (no strut/shock), i would ride around at one height and if you participate in a show, then slam it.
