Is it even worth it?

Just a quick question. I would like some wheels and I need new tires for my 2004 ES. The only problem is I don't have much money, in fact $600 is my limit. Is there anything for that amount or less, the whole package? Anything that's not completely abominable. I don't need amazing performance, just something that's at least on par with the stock tires/wheels. So is there anything?

I have only looked at Firestone and Discount Tire as of right now... just to let you know. Go ahead and laugh, then tell me what's really up!

you can go to a few places and get the whole deal for 600, but why not save an extra 200 and get some better wheels, anything is going to be an improvemnt on sotck especially with an ES go 16 or light 17 with some decent tires and your good to go.

in the end its really only your opinion that matters, no matter how many people ask you WTf you were thinking when you bought the rims

I haven't seen anything completely stand out used on the forums as of yet. What are some other ways to find used?

You should be able to find something in the 600$ package range. As far tires at that price id say go for nankang NS-1's

im not sure if you like the rota slipstream, but they have some wheels identical to them for just under 600 (they might still do free shipping ), as well as several other tire/wheel packages for under 600.

Are 15" wheels too small? Just curious. What do I gain by going bigger and what do I gain by going smaller?

If your patient enough you will find a killer deal. I waited weeks/months before I bought my first set of wheel. I ended up buying 4 X 17" Eagle Alloy with 3 almost new Kumho 712. All that for 200$ + S&H. If your patient, you WILL find a deal.

Shop around and be patient. That's the best advice I give you. There will always be someone desperate for money.

Thanks for the advice Blaze, I am definitely taking it into consideration. One question though, how heavy are the stock wheels/tires? Anybody know? I was doing some shopping around today and found some decent looking wheels but they weigh 20 lbs... is that too much? Any takers?
