Springs basically are designed to fit on the stock struts utilizing the stock perches. Coilovers are usualy adjustable sleeves but these sound BAD! Don't get them. Odds are they are not really made for the car and will probably cause shock damage etc... Plus it may handle like A$$. Get a good spring kit for the car or for complete shock with built in coilvers springs ,made for the Lancer, get TEINS.

No offence dude, but getting coilovers for 75 bux means you got coilover sleeves, not built specific to the car, and you are going to destroy your struts. Real coilovers, especially for the OZ, are about 1200 and up. But they have everything you would need to ensure that you don't destoy the ride. Me, I am 'lucky' enough that I would need to swap out my front strut mounts with the OZ, due to my ride being an ES. Springs, I personally like, mainly because I am lazy and don't want to adjust the ride height. I am running APEX front springs (1.8-2.0" drop) and Teins in the rear (1.7" drop) all on KYB GR-2 struts. So I have a nice rake going on. The ride is great, even with the two different springs. so in review. Coilover sleeves (The ones you were looking at) BAD, the 1200+ full coilover setups EXCELLENT, Springs and upgraded struts GOOD (A little worse then the coilovers)

I think the Tein Basic kit is the best setup for the money.

I disagree. Super Street.

I honestly feel that the Basics are a ricer mod - you can only adjust height, and the dampening isn't that great.
The Super Street let you adjust height AND dampening - that's what a real coilover should do.

Unless you know what you're doing, I don't think you'd be able to use the adjustable dampening that the SS allows. That alone makes it more of a rice mod than the basic kit. Not to say that you wouldn't know how to work with dampening.

When I went down to JIC for them to install their exhaust, they offered to install their full coilover kit. On top of that, they were going to do a bunch of driving to dial in various driving settings. That's a good example of what can be accomplished with adjustable dampening, but again, you gotta know what to do with the option as well as having the option.

It depends on how you use them. When I had the SS kit, it only had two settings - full soft for daily driving, full stiff for spirited driving.

I fully agree that things work best when you know what you're doing. I just like to have the option, really.

Yeah, Basic are a good kit. I shouldn't be so rude about it. I just strongly prefer the SS kit. The dampening on the Basic are a little soft for my tastes.
