Clicking noise when in gear/pressing pedal

I have an 03 Lancer OZ and when I put it in any gear and acclerate I get a click noise. It only does it when i press the gas and only while in gear. Is it more than likely an axle problem or a transmission problem?

Also what are the suspension diffrences if any between the OZ and ES?

I think a trick someone mentioned on another closely related thread was to go to a empty parking lot. Have someone drive in circles (both directions) and listen to see if it's coming from the axles...
