wheel question

I am looking into getting new wheels for my ES. I have settled on a set of ADR Cypher wheels, 17" size. Anybody have any idea how much these might weigh with tires?

How much do the rims weigh? Could be 40 lbs a rim with tire depending on their quality.

There is no best tire.

Also, what kind of tire? Are you running them in Summer only, do you need an all-season, etc.?

I was really happy with the Toyo Proxes4 all-seasons. Great grip, good pricing. Lasted a little over a year, which ain't bad the way I drive.

Gotcha. Then we can do the more fun options.

Here's my top 3, in order:
Yokohama AVS ES100
Kumho Ecsta MX
Toyo T1R

Alright great... do you have any ideas of what I should go with: 205/40/17, 215/40/17...etc.etc. Any size ideas?

Why we are on the topic of wheels in general. Do you have any suggestions of a light-wheel brand thats not over 600-700$ a set?

205/45/17 is almost an exact match for the stock diameter. 205/40/17 youll find is cheaper but its smaller then stock and gives you a smaller sidewall.

They give the same patch, dude. 205mm is 205mm.

The 45 tire is going to have a slightly larger sidewall, making the car ride smoother.
The 40 tire is going to be more "low profile", which makes the ride bumpier.
