Need some input from susp gurus

Well.. I have some rubbing issues. haha. Im lowered quite a bit on Ksport pros. Im not quite sure about how much I lowered the car. My allignment is set to stock. I have 17x7 wheels with a 42 offset. I am running 205/40/17 BFG's. When I hit any kind of dip or bump the tires rub the inner wall plastic. Thats ok. its not doing dmg to any components and the tires are fine. I took a semi sharp slower corner prettyhard today and Im pretty sure my tire took some paint off my fender. I have the dampning on my ksports set as stiff as they will go.

Will cambering the front wheels in help fix the issue of possibly ripping my fender apart? I see evos completely slammed and now wonder... Do these evos just drive slow in a straight line all the time? I dont really wanna raise the car because I love how it sits but do enjoy spirited driving.

Im basically looking for info about how to stop the tire from ripping apart my front fender when turning fast.

If you want when I get home I can measure how low I am so you can figure out how much you lowered yours, that might help you figure out what's wrong. You could always get the fenders rolled if it's a major issue. An alignment might help, but it'd be a long shot.
How do you like the tires by the way? My rims are on the way (hopefully) and I'm going with the same tires you have albeit wider.

I like the BFG's a lot thus far. Plenty of gription. haha. The look great and have plenty of tread. A N/A Lancer wont ever break them loose.

if you can measure that would be great. preferably from very middle of fender to ground I guess would work? You dont have oz skirts or lip right? if you do. from skirt to ground in the front.

I think when I have the wheel turned enouph so it stick out passed the fender, and then the susp compresses. It compresses just enouph so the tire made contact. Its the first time its done it. But I havnt taken many turns like this one.

My friend also thought fender rolling but there is no issue when im going straight. the 42 offset gives me enouph room. its just when wheel is turned so it sticks out of the fender well. So, I dont think fender rolling would help me.

Giving my wheels negative camber would almost stop the rubbing from dips.. its hitting the plastic right behind the fender, it sticks down a bit more then the rest.

Do tires wear more when cambered or do they simply wear the same just uneven?

If you try to camber in your wheels it will eat up your tires in less then 6 months. So thats not a very good option. My guess would be you might need to change your offfset if possible. Ihad an 84 z-28 that did this on the rear tires so i changed the offset and it fixed the problome.

Wear more I would suspect since the pressure isn't equally distributed. If the tire is hitting the fender lip, rolling would solve certainly solve it.

my wheel and tire offset is about the least aggressive we can run. So that shouldnt be an issue. the rubbing of the inner plastic is fine.. rubbing on the actual metal of the fender during a sharp turn.. not fine.

heres a pic of what I meen.. this rubbing of the fender occured when my tire was turned probably like this, going downhill slightly around a sharp turn. I was probably going 30 mph. So when the susp compressed, the tire touched.

Once we know how low you are it might help in figuring out what's going on. You could be lowered 3" for all we know.

Ok I just did the measurements and it's 23.5 inches from ground to fender.

I just thought of this... we dont have same size rims and tires so the measurment will be off a bit. im gonng measure it anyway off of that. thanks for the time to do that man.

What size rims do you have and what tire size do you have? We can adjust it so it's accurate.

Ok I checked, we're 0.1% different so not enough to be worried about.

I just measured. I am just shy of 23 1/4"

So im tad more then 1/4" lower then you. What does that put me at?

Great. thanks for checking that info on tire diameter.. After looking furthur today I have noticed where the tire has hit the inside of the actual fender a couple times just slightly. I will pribably have to roll them just a tiny bit. Although, the time I hit that sparked this thread was much worse and actually took a chunk of paint off.. did not just rub, but hit the bottom of the fender hard.
