Post - Wheel Purchasing Info. -

Hey everyone,
I have a few questions to the people that have purchased and installed new wheels on their lancer or are planning to get some new wheels.

a) What site (if you purchased them online) did you get your wheels from?

b) Did you sell your stock wheels? If so, how much? (I know there has been info. floating around that the dealers are on backorder and the price has jumped, but I've seen the wheels/tire sell for around 600(all4) on ebay.)

c) How much did it cost you to swap the TPS on the wheels?

I'm thinking about getting new wheels on the gts, but trying to see how much the total will end up being with the TPS swapping and such.

Thanks again!

So far I've come across:
1) wheelnext.com
2) tirerack.com
3) discounttiredirect.com

Hmm, that's interesting. I've never thought about it that way. Can anyone confirm this? I know that some rims comes with different widths, are there certain figures I should be looking for if going this route? Thanks.

Shoot for 7", since that's stock. But you can get any close size.

You should have no problem seelling your 18's to a DE or ES owner for $500 or more, I bet.

Higher...

Last I checked, the dealership wanted $1200 for a set of GTS rims. Add $500 for the tires. You have $1700.

Even used, you should get at least $850 or so.

does anyone know which one will fit the 08 lancer with 16" tires? i bought 205/60/16 tires... and now i just need the steelies...

http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/pr...=1190924725830

i'm lookin' at canadian tire b/c they have a $10 off $40 coupon... so i'll just use that four times (once per rim, ha ha).

I know blacksheep said 7", but will 6.5" make a big difference? b/c its A LOT cheaper... well.. relatively...

I'm such a noob when it comes to this... sorry!

16x6.5 should be fine. 7" is stock, but 6.5" is pretty damn close.

For those that have purchased wheels from tirerack, did you choose the wheels they autolist for you for the gts? I see that the wheels are 7.5's instead of the 7" that is mentioned in the wheel info thread above. Would the 7.5" they select fit on the stock tires that are 7"?

(I have no idea what i'm talking about )

Yes. As long as the wheel size is CLOSE, you're fine. Just don't buy 10" wide wheels and try the stock tires.
