The mazda3 isn't that light, it's quite the pig actually. If you want a light hatchback, your best bet is a civic. A manual lancer won't have a lot more power than what you currently have and IMO it wouldn't be worth doing since you'd spend quite a bit of money to end up with basically the same car. A turboed automatic lancer is actually pretty cool since it doesn't lose boost between shifts.

The only automatic lancer I drove was the one I tested before I bought mine. You're comparing a performance sedan to an economy car, it's pretty difficult to actually explain it. My WRX is faster, handles better, has more grip, feels more stable, is quieter and is way easier to mod than my old lancer. On the downside it's also more expensive to insure and it eats gas.

yeah I've heard nothing but good things about turboed lancers but isn't my milage a little high for that? I'm at (94,000)miles. Is it too late? What about the miata? alot of questions I know but you do know alot I can't help asking.

I wouldn't personally turbo a car once it hit that kind of mileage. If you still want to do it, I'd recommend getting the motor checked by a mechanic so that you at least have an idea of whether it's safe or not. A miata is a good car, not sure how they are to mod though.

For real! hinesight is 20/10! I'm thinking about going with a nissan 240sx or a honda civic. But I really like the lancer brand Its different from what every tuner drives. Its a matter of whats available for what price. Autotrader for Life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey SOCOMPLETE. If you want to get a lancer that will be more fun you should look into the ralliarts. I have seen some nice ones go for about 14k. From what I hear a turboed 4G69 will blow away 350Zs and such.

A ralliart huh? I know its a step above the base lancer but does it have more aftermarket support other than Road Race Motorsport?
