Ive heard that the stock GTS wheels cost 800 a piece. Does anyone know the cost of Evo wheels?

Probably the same or a bit more, but they won't fit your car.

How come? My understanding was that the X has similar lug pattern, offset and such... what am I missing?

well…

Official wheel/tire info thread:

General info
A 245/45/18 size tire will not fit, as confirmed by CrEsT (tested on 18x8 wheel).
so i would assume that a 245/40/18 tire on an 18x8.5 rim would cause some problems…
right?

Yes. Rubbing will be a definite issue.

Should be fine. The tires will stretch to fit.

Forgot to check back, but the issue is offset. Same as with past Evos, they have the widebody plus are clearing the brembos. Their lower offset means rubbing for you guys. If I've read correctly, Evo Xs have +38 wheels and you have +46. Not the most massive difference, but can be enough to cause bad rubbing issues. Same reason why the Ralliart guys can't run Evo VIII/IX wheels.

GUYS, EVO X TIRES ARE NOT 245/45/18, THEY ARE 245/40/18. I'd be hardpressed to believe they rub on a base model lancer. Yea there is an 8mm difference in offset but the lower sidewall should counteract that.

overall diameter of 245/45/18 is 26.68" (this will not fit due to the larger difference)
overall diameter of 245/40/18 is 25.71" (this is stock evo)
overall diameter of 215/45/18 is 25.61" (this is stock lancer)

it will be a tad bigger, as above, but should fit, the offset is what you want to think about. When you turn your wheels lock to lock you dont want rubbing.

Um, the rubbing would most likely come from the massively wider tires, not offset or aspect ratio (or even overall diameter, since that's your angle).

ahhhh, 30mm wider isnt going to be that big of a difference on a stock diameter wheel. Evo 8's and 9's have 235/45/17 stock. Put a 265/35/17 on there and it will fit fine.
