DBA Rotors???

Has anyone heard of DBA rotors? I was looking around online for brakes among other things and I came across this company. Their website is www.dba.com.au

If anyone has these installed or knows of any one with them I'd like to hear some input on the performance of these rotors.

On the website, they have a video of an EVO IX doing 10 full brake stops with the stock brakes, and then 10 more with their brake package. Took off 10 meters (~33ft) from the braking distance from 100kmph (~70mph). They used HAWK pads with the setup too. Never heard of that company for pads either.

If these rotors are that good, I'd say they would be pretty good for our lancers. Since they have some that fit the EVO X according to he website, I don't see why they wouldn't fit our cars too. Havn't looked into that part at all though, just an assumption.

Yeah, they're a good name. I don't know if they make 2008 rotors yet, though.

Hawk is a great name for pads. They make some that will fit your fronts. They claim they have rears, but I'm not sure if they actually fit (they don't match what SHOULD fit according to the industry standard). See this thread for more info on that...

As for "they fit the Evo X, why not us?", you're forgetting that we have 100% different brakes compared to the Evo. Heck, your brakes wouldn't even fit the ES/DE models because GTS got it's own separate brake package...

Don't really know about them. But our GTS stop from 100-0 in 37meters. (Almost what they got with their brake kit on the IX).
But well, if it really improve that much, I can't wait to see what they can do for us !

Kool, Ill have to add these to my list of things to upgrade. It's getting to be a long list now lol. But as far as the EVO X and parts fitting on the GTS or even the RA, I would not be surprised at all to see brakes being interchangable. If you look at the rims for example, both have the same bolt pattern, so I think it would be a good assumption to say the bolt pattern for the rotors would also be the same.

From an engineering stand point, and manufacturing, it saves time and effort making everything one size for all the models. Then for the case of the evo where you would expect it to handle more power, you just change the material used while keeping the same basic manufacturing process. Thats my 2 cents though.

And the site shows the 5000 series coming out soon. Just a matter of finding somewhere to get them from.

Yeah, the rotors will go ON the car. But that doesn't mean that they'd fit. You clearly don't understand brakes. The Evo rotors are a different size. They won't fit under your calipers. And the Evo calipers won't bolt up to your Lancer. Making any sense?

Your comments make sense from an engineering standpoint. But that's not how cars work. You are sorely mistaken in your assumptions. Evo parts will not all bolt up to the Lancer.

No, I understand that you just cant take the stock evo caliper and mount it onto the stock gts bracket. But you should be able to take the stock evo rotor, caliper and bracket and replace the stock gts equipment. I was lookin at the RRM Rotora rotors, and those come with brackets too. Either way, its on my list of mods, but I don't see myself doing this till after I install a turbo.

Upgrading the front pads makes a huge difference in itself.

Plus it'll only cost you at most $100 and its a mod that you can actually do and not just dream about

No, it is not that simple. These cars are NOT Legos. You can't just take a part off one and put it on the other.

That's WHY RRM's kit comes with brackets - because things need to be custom-done to fit.
