megan coilovers 2parter

pt1: megan coilovers are on sale at Auto City Imports 840 and 30 flat for shipping, mine arrive on Thursday!! woohoo! I called and they said that they'll be on sale all may.
http://autocityimports.com/2008-lanc...2922_3007.html

pt2: ok my question for the owners of megans, when i get mine i want an idea of what drop height i want, and yes i did a forum search but couldnt pin point the search phrase. (if any one can help, if this is redundant then that would be great) but if this is a new quesiton help would be awesome

but can i see some pics of megans on a lancer GTS or Ralliart? (with how much the drop is) so i can pin point where i should adjust the coilovers. (or if there is a better term, like clicks that ill understand better later, that would be good too.)

and also the drivers preference for the damper and such... thanks alot!
for performance, daily driving etc..

ok i know a freaking mouthful, but any help and advice is always much appreciated!

cheers,
dustin

I based my height on the number of threads showing while adjusting them. My dampers are set pretty soft: the least aggressive in the trunk and just slightly more aggressive for the front, because of the weight of the engine. Pics are in my sig but i've got an older model lancer, so they won't do much good

may not want to over do the front. The MacPherson suspension that we utilize is specificaly designed for a high spring rate in the rear to reduce understear. So keep this in mind when you are making your decisions.

If you want a specific idea on height, do a few measurements. Measure the stock ride height then measure the stock struts. If you want to lower the car by 2 inches, adjust the Megans to be 2 inches lower that the stock struts. Keep in mind, lower does not mean better handling. It can sometimes take a few tries to figure out just what you want but that's why you bought coilovers.

Your suspension is not simply the sum of parts, it's designed to work as a whole entire system. If you lower to car too much, you throw off the suspension geometry which results in strange camber issues when you enter a corner among other things. The same could be said about the dampers, having the dampers on the stiffest setting isn't always a good idea either because it again, harms how the entire system works. If you want to think of a good analogy, imagine an athlete that had the legs of Michael Phelps but a beer belly, saggy chest, weak arms, etc. They likely wouldn't be good at anything because, while they have great legs, the rest is useless.

^ that drop is 2.1 inches up front and 1.9 in the back, no u dont have to roll fenders.

this is straight from megan's website

NOTE: Due to the clearance of the coilover system and the cv-boot, do not lower the vehicle more then 3 inches. When lowering more than 3 inches, check for clearance between the shock body and the cv-boot.
