I just installed spacers on my 03 Lancer ES to give it a wider more agressive stance. The problem here is that the stick out farther than the fenders so when I hit a bump, turn to sharp, or even have someone in the back seat of my car the rear tires hit the fender.

This is how far they stick out....about 1.5-2"

I need some advice and suggestions on what coils and shocks I need to keep my ride the same hieght but harden the suspension so that I do not rub or at least not as much. any specific coilovers and/or struts and coils come to mind?

I don't really want to spend over $500. I don't drive my car crazy hard anyway but I still want some performance when I do. I don't care much for ride quality just as long as I stop tearing up my tires. I just want budget performance.

Ditch the spacers, get better tires.I don't really want to spend over $500. I don't drive my car crazy hard anyway but I still want some performance when I do. I don't care much for ride quality just as long as I stop tearing up my tires. I just want budget performance.
The tire I see in the picture looks like an all-season tire special from Walmart or the likes. Ditch the spacers, it looks like cr@p. Get better tires.

You arent going to get crap for 500 bucks that will offer much of any kind of performance. They dont make aftermarket shocks for our car and damper is a huge factor in performance. The wheel spacers might actually work and look good if you had the correct rim offset. Thats why your wheels sit so effing far out. Or you could look into rolling your fenders. Even if you were to get a set of coilovers, a good set, not an ebay 30$ special fake coilover set, your tires would still end up rubbing. You would either have to ditch the spacers(definitely what I would do in your situation), raise the car, or get a wheel with the correct offset to tuck into your fender with. Or I guess you could angle the camber super aggressive
I just kid, just kid. But seriously, best option would be to get rid of the spacers.

This, as said above, there are no budget coilovers and there are no aftermarket performance struts available for the Lancer. Even if there were, 500$ wouldn't cover them. To put into perspective, decent struts for my car cost 1000$+ if you want springs as well (which you would). Buy better tires and get wheels that fit.Originally Posted by blaze_125

get good tires, get rid of the spacers. As far as coilovers go, get a set from Megan Racing, they are the best for the price. Around $850 and they have height and damping adjustment.
Alternatively you could get a set of NEX coilovers which only have height adjustment and cost around $700

And break easily (the NEX coilovers).
However I did have a set on my lancer for 40,000 miles with no problems. And i bought them used, the previous owner ran them for about 20,000 miles.

yah if your looking to go cheap megan coilovers, or just go with a set of eibach or tein springs. either way youll acheive what ever you are looking for. bu also get rid of the spacers and get a better set of tires.
