Pretty quick simple question. i frequently see strut bards as a mod. What are they used for?

Strut bars are used to join the upper strut towers under the hood and in the trunk to make the chassis stiffer by reducing flex.

^That, they're not a noticeable mod given the location of the stock struts (close to the firewall). There are many other things to do before a sway bar becomes a good mod. However, they do look good under the hood.

Closer to the firewall=less flex=less use for the strut bar.

the s2k is a good example, as its engine is behind the strut towers

Woops, typo on my part, that should say strut bar. A sway bar is a very good mod.

If I'm not mistaken, a strut tower brace mainly keeps the suspension geometry in check, whereas a sway bar reduces body roll.
