Thumbs up 215/45 on 18x8 +40

Hi Everyone,

I'm planing to buy a set of new rims for my car so I'm curious about 2 things.

I've been reading the threads and so far I understood they won't rub, and the tires will stretch a little.

But to be honest, I want to get positive feedback from whom may using or seen this kind of setup.

Would I have any rubbing or any other problems with (My car is on eibach pro-kits so the ridde height is not stock) ;

215/45 on 18x8 +40 setup?
The guy at the shop which I'm going to buy the rims says I will not have any issues but it will really cool me down if I hear this from you guys out there.

Really appriciated.

Cheers.

Do not buy 215 45 and put it on a 18x8 . Your tire will look stretched.
Buy a 225 40 18
Do not buy 225 45 18 unless you are ok with rolling your fenders.

I know this because, I made that mistake.

with a +40 offset he might be ok with 225 45 18.

evosoul i know your wheels were +35 offset, as i have the same ones. but if the op wants to play it safe stick to 225 40 18.

personally i couldnt stand the ride on the 40 series tire so i had my rears rolled and got 45.

true, but my problem is, if i wanted to sell my rims and tires together, that buy will have to roll his fenders . If i got the 225 40 18 I would be fine.

Guys, thanks for the replies..

I know the stretched sidewalls will affect cornering and ride comfort but if I insist on 215x45's am I going to have any loss other than the looks (stretched looking and stiffer ride - although I like the way stretched tires looking )? I mean any safety issues?

I think it all depends on the tire..

Pirelli's website for 215/45 tire says it will fit 7 to 8 in rim.

guys it's approved! 215/45/18 tires didn't rub with +40 ofset on eibach prokits! I had 3 grown ppl in the back and I passed a speed bump moderately fast, it didn't rub. Anyone can have them with ease and no body work

that is very good to know....i'm at peace right now cause I was a little worried cause I'll be running pretty much the same setup with putting a 215/45/18 on a 8in rim..I"m lowered on teins.

got any pics?? I'm interested in seeing if the tire looks stretched

I've no pics at the moment cos the car was really dirty The weather is going bad over here.. But I guess it will be clear this weekend so I'll put the pics as soon as I get my car cleaned. Btw streched tires look really cool
