Tire Rub

I bought a 2011 Lancer ES that came with 16 inch steel wheels. So i bought 18s on craigslist put them on and now im getting tire rub in the back. The more weight in the car the worse it gets. How do I get this fixed an how much will it cost?
Thanks Joe

You can do several things, depending on the amount of money you want to spend and the amount of rub you have.

Cheapest option is to roll your fenders to get a little more clearance. There are many methods of doing this. I'm not sure what it runs price wise.

Best option would be to get coilovers so that you can adjust the height and/or stiffness of the car to keep the rear from coming down to the point of rubbing. Some rolling may still be required though. Coilovers ran range from sever hundred to several thousand depending on brand and performance characteristics.

Search other threads on the forums here. There's lots of good information on what you can do to resolve this problem. Hope this helps!
