To be honest with you I wouldn't buy springs at all. The simple fact remains that there are no replacement struts for the OZ except for OEM replacements from . Those go for $189 a piece retail. I would either go Tein Basic Coilovers from RRM or the Tein SS Coilovers. Yeah they are $700 more than Progress or Tein S-Tech springs, but at least you won't have to replace your struts in 6 months.

If you still want to just buy spring, go either with Progress or Tein.

If you go Tein, go to Revhighonline - they're cheaper at $134.

I recommend Eibach, because I have put 20,000 miles on my car and my struts are still fine......

use the yahoo shopping search engine for the coilovers. But I also found them on Ebay from a bigger dealer for 1059 with 50 bucks shipping.

I have Eibach Pro Kit springs on my car... 15,000 miles auto-xing and rough roads and no problems with struts... I'll be selling my springs in about a month or so anyway... Getting JIC coilovers.

Take "Livelyjay"s advice (above) and hold out for the Teins. Our struts suck and for the price of shocks, struts, and springs you can have adjustability with the Teins.

Don't forget about the Tein basic coilover kit. If you're not a serious racer and just want better handling and a small fender gap, they are the best for your money. I believe Road///Race Motorsports sells them for something like $700 or 800, and that includes performance shocks with adjustable ride height coilover springs, which goes from something like a 0" to a 3" drop (which is more than you should ever need)

i dont know much about suspension. so getting coilovers doesnt mess up camber or make you need new struts soon?

well, getting ANY lowering springs will throw your camber and alignment off a little. My opinion, you will be fine with the camber you get from lowering springs (mine even improved tire wear), but you will need a toe alignment for sure. $60 at Pep Boys.

what is toe alignment? ok so youre saying if i get the progress or tein springs i will not need to fix the camber? will it make me have to replace the struts real soon? i know this has been asked 3000 times but i always see comflicting answers and you(urbanknight) seem to know what you are talking about.

Toe is what they adjust at any alignment place. It's how straight the wheels are pointed. For example, most cars use a little toe-in, so they're pointed slightly towards each other. This way, the drag on the wheels pull them straight so the tire rolls straight. Race cars use toe-out for better cornering, but as you can imagine, that drags the tires a little and wears the insides a lot.

It's hard to say how soon you will need new struts, as I know plenty of people with 40k miles on springs while others blew a shock in 10k. It probably depends on which spring you use and how hard you drive over bumps and sharp corners. I don't know any specs on the aftermarket springs mentioned, but you want the spring rate to be heavier than the stock springs (since there's a shorter distance for the shocks to move), preferably a progressive rate spring. I want performance, so I got a performance spring/shock package, so I couldn't tell you exactly how much springs will beat on stock shocks.

Ok so...correct me if I'm wrong here...

Camber: (view from the FRONT of the car)
-ve camber ----------> / \
+ve camber ---------> \ /

Toe: (view from the TOP of the car)
toe-in --------> \ /
toe-out ------> / \

is it right?
