Is it possible?
What are the chances of blowing your stock shocks when using the Eibachs Pro-Kit Lowering springs?
I had my Eibachs installed more than a week ago at a respectable shop and I still have a horrible noise coming from both the front and the back when going over bumps. It sounds like something is loose, like a clapping noise.
Has anyone here had that problem and how did you fix it?
How can you tell if your shocks are blown?

Clapping could be a couple of thing...could be the spring settling or it could be the fact they were installed incorrectly. As for blown shocks, if your ride quality has gone to the dogs and you find your car not going exactly where you want to, it's time to think about fixin' things.

You can tell your damper is blown when there's oil all over your rim (dark color, compare to other wheel on same axle). Happened to me once when they incorrectly fitted the rubber part on the top...
If right after fitting springs you get a clapping noise like something is loose, chances are the spring came out of its position and needs replacing. It can also be that it is still there but comes out for a second when you drive over a bump and then goes back into its correct position.
Thank you for your replies!
I think Claudius is most right!
Unfortunately, it looks like the spring may not have been installed correctly.
I thought Eibach claims that the pro-kit springs were designed to work well with stock shocks.
Thanks for your input, I will bring the car back to the shop today to get the springs checked out.
I'm thinking if I get the Ralliart struts maybe my problem will go away!

Make sure you read the suspension FAQ in the Lancer Evo Tech Forums to see the basic differences in suspension before commiting to an important expense.
