Brake caliper bracket

I have been trying to fix my brakes for some time now as the left brake seems to stick while im driving (I concluded this because when I checked my pads they were severely worn, the pad was almost ripped off it's backing, on the left side and the right looked new. I replaced the pads, rotors, and now a new caliper (minus a new bracket ) and I still have a sticking issue. I can tell because when I stop after driving for a few minutes and touch my front rims the left one is steaming hot and the right is luke warm.

I think I need a new brake caliper bracket but I was first wondering if there was supposed to be a gaping hole in the side where the larger slide pin fits into the bracket; other than the circle where the pin is supposed to slide in. I should have taken a picture before I slapped it all together.

Well this picture I found doesn't show the weird hole I have, I already ordered the bracket but god knows when it will actually get here.

edit: just realized it's coming from New York and because of Sandy it will probably take me a week or more to get it, fml

Does the caliper slide fine on the bracket? Have you tried lubing the slides?
