need serious help with wheels !!!

hi guys, I need some help I know all this if has been posted here some where put there are some many different opinios I don't know what to do.
first
I want to get some 17" wheels but I want to get some thick tires, I don't want my car to look like it is riding on rubber bands, I also want to get some springs to eliminate the the gap from the bigger wheels but the problem is that the building where I live has at list 8 small speed bups that I have to go over everytime I get out of the parking lot (a lot of *******s that like to speed on the parking lot live here )

any answer may help me I don't have a lot of money I just got my tax return and it is about a $1000 so I want to make a waise decision.

thanks

well, getting 17" rims isn't going to allow you to get thick tires. The largest profile you can get with 17s on a Lancer is about 45 (205/45/17 to be exact) You could go a little thicker at 215/45/17 which will throw your speedo off just a tad, and that's about as big as you can get. As for springs, I'd go for the Eibach kit, since it's not too terribly low but will close the fender gap with 17s very nicely, and it's still fairly speedbump friendly.

I'd be careful going 215/45. I'm not sure how the OZ handles that tire size, but I do know the ES doesn't like it at all. Some serious tire rubbing issues at work there.

215-45-17's have been known to rub on our lancers.

so u're getting larger rims but still want thick tires? i suggest u just get 16's then. although it may be a little smaller than 17's, it doesnt look bad. definately better than the stock 15". if u go 215/50/16 its barely any different than the stock size..but of course u could have rubbing problems..
