Lancer oz rear disc conversion
Well from the part explosion diagram in alldata, it looks like it may just be the same. The only problem is I can't find a part # for the ralliart backing plates anywhere, junkyards here don't have any lancers in their yards so I'd have to get the plates new. My alldata subscription if just for my 2.0 es so I can get the part # for those plates, but not what I would need.

Well, I did some pricing for the ralliart hubs just to make finding rotors easier, I think I'll just keep the es hubs in there, find some ralliart plates and 4 x 100 rotors. Even if I have to pay a bit more for the odd hole size/number for the rotors I'd rather do that than having to shell out between $100 and $150 for each hub. I'll stay tuned to see the final result of your conversion, but it's looking real nice so far. Just realized I'd have to get the sportback plates, I don't have ABS. Plus I'd have to go with different hubs as well, I can't find anyplace so far that has rotors that have a 4x100 bolt pattern, and I really don't wanna get blanks and drill em(or have em drilled). Looks like my only option may just be a whole sportback disc/hub conversion.

Yeah, different offset ranges too, so for me the term "opening a can of worms" would be a pretty accurate term to use. I was talking with one of the senior mechanics at my job and he told me "you give me a grand and I'll do your brakes"
As much as I'd like disc in back, for me it would run $1000+. I'd have to get different wheels and tires......a lot of hassle. So unfortunately it's one project I'm not going to be able to do. I hope yours goes as planned and smoothly.

Alright so i did the conversion last night and everything went very well. If you have an oz with abs and you get the sportback backplates all you have to do is to drill a hole the size of the sensor for it to go through the backplates. I used the stock handbrake cables and it works just fine. Here is a picture of the final product:
I will once everything is set up for the track...i installed my front wilwood big brake kit and my ksport gt pro coilovers in the same night also and my rear alignment bolts are all seized so im going to order all i need so i can align it perfectly and set it up like i want and then il post more pics!
It seems like the rear brakes are locking up under really hard braking at the track and the abs gets the job done but im not sure if the problem is my really agressive rear pads compared to the front or if it's the proportioning valve inside the abs module that sends too much pressure to the back. Let me know if im wrong with the valve being in the abs module maybe we can figure something out.
They're on the master cylinder, one valve for the left lines and one for the right lines. As far as I know the abs unit only controls the amount of pressure coming through the lines(basically a hydraulic pump). I remember that senior mechanic I was talking with actually mentioned that I may have to get different valves and possibly even a different master cylinder(but I don't have abs). I'm thinking if the abs unit regulates pressure if you can program the abs unit somehow(maybe via ecu) to slightly decrease the amount of pressure to the rear lines under hard braking that may prevent them from locking up. If that's even possible I don't know but if it is just make sure to thoroughly test it before you drive anywhere.

Wrong info, on non-abs the valves are in the master cylinder, with abs it looks like the valves are in the lower potion of the abs unit, you're right.

Yea that's what i taught. i work at Acura and all the new Acuras proportioning valves are in the abs unit. Im thinking if i use better pads in the front on my wilwood it will solve my problem though because rigth now i have the stock wilwood front pads with some ebc yellowstuff in the rear.

Makes sense, the ebc could be grabbing better than the stock pads in front. I would think as long as the sensors and valves are working right switching the front pads would solve the problem.
I got my hawk hp plus pads installed on my front wilwood big brake kit now. I will update this next time i go to the track to see if the front pads will make a difference. I did 2 sessions of lapping on Monday and even with the abs my front pads were sparkling out of my wheels with the ones that came with the kit. The rotors are still in good shape and didn't even warp or turn blue. If you're interested in doing lapping and/or autocross with the front wilwood big brake kit i highly recommend you buy the hawk hp plus pads because i can already see the difference in braking only in the street. They have a lot more bite than the ones that come with the wilwood kit.

I'll gather all the info needed for the conversion, and see how yours goes.
