Spacers

I'll be the first to admit my ignorance. Might not have the first time I was on these forums, but, I will now. Finally got around to getting some rims after my wife was in a five car pile-up that left her okay, but decimated her T-bird. Anyway, backstory aside, I have a set of 16x7 ADR Reaction rims that will be using some 205/45-16 tires. I'll be the first to admit that while I can grasp such concepts as the engine combustion cycle, how a transmission works, and suspension/brake solutions, the mechanics and needs of what should be simple really evade me completely. So, now that I've really blathered on, as Seinfeld might have said, what's the deal with wheel spacers, and do I need 'em? Appreciate the help.

you shoudn't need spacers unless the offset is incorrect or that you want a wider stance than normal.

Well, I seem to get anything simple and understand a lot about suspension, but anything between the intake manifold and the exhaust tip is foreign to me. Anyway, as said above, the offset is important. I have 16x7 rims with a 42mm offset and they fit with 215/45/16 tires just fine (although 205/50/16 or 215/50/16 would be closer to stock diameter)

Here's a thread with a bunch of useful information, Newbies tend to miss all the sitckied threads.

LOL. I guess I am a noob to the "new" evom. Although, good to see you again, Brian. I guess I forget that new stickies must have been made in the last 10 months. I appreciate the help.
