pissed off!!

this is so frickin gay. im really, really pissed off right now. tomorrow was going to be my first autocross of the season and i was changing the wheels cause i got a set of oz wheels with the azenis on them. anyways, the lugnuts on the front left came off fine, and 3 on the front right came off perfectly fine too. but this one on there would not ****in come off. it twisted a couple times but even with that it would not come off. then came the horror. i tried to twist the lugnut off with my foot and something came off all right. i look down and the lug ****in snapped in half. what a great ****in day.

what could have caused this? the last person to torque down the wheels was not me, i had Cassidy Tire put on new all-season tires on the original set of oz's i have. two weeks ago.

i was looking forward to tomorow for a long *** time now, and now because of this, i cant go. just great.

what can i do about this? take it to the dealer? is **** like this under warranty? how much do u guys think it'll cost if it isnt? this is serious bs, the bolts should not break like that. thanks for reading, im hoping to get some replies..here's a couple pics for you guys to see:

Not a warranty repair, sorry. When Cassidy torqued them down, they may have been too tight, or some dirt may have been in the lug. When that happens, friction increases enough to risk something like this.

You'll probably never get Cassidy to pay for it either, you just can't prove it's thier fault. What hub is it? It'll cost different amounts between the front and rears.

EDIT: I know you're not the first guy to break those...someone else has. I'd search around and see what they did.

i have a very similar problem as well, i was up in bakersfield about 6 months ago and blew a tire in a construction site just %&#ing around. My buddy was helping me put on my spare and stripped the lug...not broke it off, but it was so damaged that we couldn't get the lugnut on and then back off without completely destroying the threading...what an idiot, anyways...scary as it may be i've been driving around with only 3 lug nuts holding down my rear right rim...so far fine, but i am scared to go to the dealership to see how much they'd charge...prolly an arm and a leg!

you shouldnt have to buy a new hub, i believe the lug bolts can be replaced seperately. take off the tire and the front rotor, i believe the bolts can be hammered out (hammer them in toward the car) and they will fall out the backside of the disk they are in. they are like 2 bucks at autoparts story. i broke one like that on my blazer i used to have, and i replaced just that one bolt.

wow that sucks bro. similar thing happened to my buddy, but with his exhaust. he had a shop weld on a muffler onto his stock pipe.... anyways the idiots accidentally sliced his rear tire. he didnt notice till 2 days later when all the air leaked out and the tire was completley deflated. well point being he went thru hell but finally got the shop to pay for a new tire. give em hell bro. i'll go up there and complain with you if you want.

btw whats wrong with your trans? IM me.

we'll see what i do. i have a question tho, i know some cars have anti-cease (i dunno how u spell that) on the studs out of the factory. would putting some on when i put the lugnuts on help me get them off easier or would it just cause more problems? this is just for future reference..

you can just tap that lug out... and tap a new one in.
not a big deal and not real hard to do. The only trick is finding the right size lug.

Hope that helps.
