Alignment? Should I get it?

I just got my tires and wheels on, Should I get the car aligned? They are 2 sizes bigger then stock. handling has been rough It seems harder to steer.. I can't really explain it but I defiently feel something is wrong/different. By the way today I was taking my girlfriend to the bank and on the way back in the rain I was going up this hill type curve and the car suddenly starts to hydroplane ... It was pretty bad It was my first time experiencing something like that but I am glad I did for some sick reason lol. I guess with new tires you have to be a little careful??

An alignment is a good idea, but not completely necessary if you only changed the wheels and tires... unless it's been a while since your last alignment. It's going to be a tad harder to steer because the wheels are heavier, and you probbaly have wider tires which grab the road better.

And yes, brand new tires are slippery. A few more miles and you should be fine.

edit: what tires did you get? That might make a difference too.

Well I just an alignment not to long ago.. I am waiting to get an alignment because I am getting lowering springs in the next week or two so I need one then.

I can explain what it feels like a little more.. . Taking corners is MUCH better with the bigger tires but when I am leaving a stop light my steering really seems a little off? When I hit bumps the car seems to veer off to one side like I have to have both hands on the wheel! It is almost like the car has a mind of its own now..
Should I try to tighten the lugs? Gez I hope the tires or on right lol
I hope I can get it fixed but if not I guess that is just something I have to deal with.

the veering is probably just a magnified torque steer. When you leave from a red light, you're accelerating and the grippier tires are pulling it even more (I am assuming it's to the right, correct?), and hitting bumps is the tires tracking more pronounced. Check the lugs and stuff to make sure, but you should be fine, and yeah wait until the springs to get an alignment then.

When you get an alignment the only thing that can be adjusted is toe-in, I think. Camber and caster are both pre-set from the factory. You would need aftermarket parts to adjust camber, don't know about caster.

Just thought I'd throw that out there.
