Will my wheels rub if i get them 17x7.5?

Will my wheels rub if i get them 18's?

I plan on doing a Progress spring drop...

I've heard of rims rubbing with 17x7.5 even without a drop

we have 17's and we get no rub. no drop yet but i am guessing we wont have a rubbing problem with the drop either.

17x7.5 and 17x7 won't make any different as long as the offset is the same. My 17x7.5 rubbed because they had a smaller offset (40mm compared to 42-45) and wider tires (225). From what I hear, if you have at least 42mm offset and 215 tire, you're fine.

your not counting the fact the they will rub on the inside of the wheel well when the car's tires are turned

Yeah, when I put the 225 tires on (7.5 width rim) they came less than 10mm from the shock springs in front, and rubbed on the outside, so I worry what would happen to a tire on an 18x8 rim, cause you'll probably be running a 245 tire. Just my advice if ya want it.
