welp, after doing some investigation I have come up empty handed. I went to my local Autozone to see if they could help me crossreference any shocks or struts for the lancer, they have nohting on the car, and they say they should have it soonconsider it is out for over a year. They told me to try again in a few months.

my next step is to call my mitsubishi parts department and see if any parts crossreferences........ill keep everyone posted.

welp, got the word from Mitusbishi parts department.
He told me nothing cross references with it at first, and then he checked and he confirmed it.

He offered me RMR Shocks for $425+tax....which isnt bad paying a lil over $100 per shock.

I dunno, i give up for now.

OK...who makes shocks...

www.bilstein.com
www.hrsprings.com
www.kyb.com
www.tokicogasshocks.com
www.koni.com

Uhm...they all do and they all offer a high po version of their products...I've contacted all of 'em. Now...everyone else try!!! Need to get the point across that yes, we have kickass products available but need a middle option between stock and almost outright race setups (JIC, Tein).

Jeff if you can get shocks how long will it take you to come up with something that will fit. Also what is the difference between the single and double adjustable shocks? Is the price $150 for just the two shipped to you or what im a little confused. One other question what kind of shock inserts are you using ?

uranium9v would you send your shock to ILP ?

yeah it is there non adjustable.. I would never pay that much ever for non adjustable shocks. just my .02 I dont know how good they really are I personally dont know anyone who has them. but for $100 a shock we should at least get adjustability if you look at any other car with adjustable shocks the price runs any where from 80-120 if im not mistaken.. that is off of nopi.com and there prices are high to begin with.

Now that I think about it. Pjal84 said that you cant just use a cross over shock due to the difference in weight of the cars. but if you have adjustable shocks from a different car even if the cars weight is heavier or lighter, wouldn’t you be able to adjust the shock for the best ride? All you would have to do is find a shock that will seat the spring right, you can take the top mount off of the stock shocks and place it on the new one and you might have to modify the bottom mounts where the two big bolts attach to the hub maybe drill one new hole or something so it lines up. I guess in a perfect world it would work but could it work?

One other thought if you have say a set of ground controls. you dont have to worry about the spring seat due to the fact that the spring sits on an adjustable ring and not the seat. so the only thing you would have to do is make sure the clearance is there for the tire.

That's an awful lot of work to use the shocks from another car to simply fabricate them to fit the Lancer. You're better off waiting for a purpose built product...

whats so hard about it? all I have to do is find a shock with the same size bottom spring seat as the stock shocks. and that should be it.

I was talking about the first option you presented. For your second one, you'd also have to make sure the diameter of the strut body itself will fit into the sleeve to. There's a lot of small things that really need to be considered.
