flywheel for auto's?

I have a question and i'm sorry if it makes me look stupid. But i was wondering for some time now if the RRM flywheel will go on a auto 02 Lancer ES? If not is there any other upgrades for our car besides the levelten products? thanks, peace.

I don't believe autos use flywheels.

Last I checked,
flywheel = manual
flexplate = auto

But I could be wrong. Anyone want to correct me?

Nope... AUTO = FLEXPLATE... If it makes you feel better, the flexplate byitself is lighter than a flywheel... If you want a tranny upgrade, see if phantom grip makes an LSD insert, and get your stall speed bumped up to 2800, 2900 RPM... That should improve the drive of your ES... Just my two cents...

hrm, my impression was that every engine needed a flywheel, to carry the rotation of the engine in between cylinder fires, help smooth it out. Haven't torn apart a lancer, but every other auto I've worked on used a flywheel

The big thin thing that looks like a flywheel? Those are called flexplates on autos.

I made the same mistake before being corrected.
