Angry 1st to 2nd grind

Does anyone else have this problem. Had this problem ever since 20,000km..switched to the redline still the same thing and the car has 55,000km now. Dealership said that there is nothing wrong at all.

take it back to the dealership, have them drive it (with you in the car) and then get it fixed by them

yeah, don't let them push you around, I'd say there's something definitely wrong. If they try to brush you off, just keep working up the food chain to the next person up the line

My OZ does this too, but only when it is cold outside and only until the car warms up. Also if I really rev the RPMs in first before shifting to second, it acts like I missed the gear even though the shift lever is in the correct position. I have taken it to the dealer twice, left the car with them both times and they have never been able to recreate the problem. BTW, my car is an 04 and only has 9,580 miles as of this morning.

I too have this problem. I too have had 3 different oils in the Tranny... Stock/ Redline/ Syncroshift. This usually happens when I drag race, or need to accelerate hard. 1st to second @ 5700+ RPM's with a quick shift. To me, this is like the I am shifting too fast for the scynros to actually do their job. What really gets me though is that sometimes (3 times) when this happens, shifting normally is affected for about a day. All gears become real hard to get into. My local dealership opened up the tranny and found nothing wrong. I know they did this because I saw the inside of my tranny. There were wear marks on the syncro's, and since they had it apart the replaced them under warranty. Did nothing to help though.
What conditions is this happening to everyone???? Smashed gas pedal? RPM's? uphill, downhill? any other side effects? Maybe between all this information we can ascertain what the real cause is... Just a thought...

BTW: as of this morning 54K Miles on 03 OZ

I hear that grinding noise when i shift from 4th into 5th, however if i "granny shift" into 5th i do not hear the grinding. Would the warranty cover this???

I had this problem in my last truck. I couldn't make the 1st to 2nd gear shift when racing. I was told I could have the sycro replaced, but there is a chance of it still going bad. What I ended up having to do is start double clutching, and I was able to do the 1st to 2nd gear shift without grinding.
