clutch restrictor Q

from a 2g na dsm site. supposedly there's a restrictor in the clutch hydraulic line. anyone know if we have one too? just a thought. benefits? faster clutch engagement. quicker shifts.
another thought. if the clutch engages faster, wouldn't clutch wear be minimal and cause less wear? i mean, if the clutch restrictor causes the clutch to engage slower, wouldn't the clutch be "rubbing" more before complete engagement causing more wear? well whatever, just a thought.

Hey rhyzin.. I would think that wear would be minimal, but the fact that it's harder to engage with balancing the clutch means that you're likely to wear some of your clutch by just accomodating that 1st gear. Since it's kind of like.. "Ride OR Die" / Engage OR Stall.. I guess it would last as long as a stock clutch if you drove it correctly. But performance clutches will wear quickly if you don't drive them correctly. Actually, they will wear much quicker than a stock clutch if not used correctly.

well the spring in the clutch acually lets you feather the clutch, so taking out the restrictor still wouldn't make your clutch engage/not-engaged. on a hard launch (if you happen to be at the tracks or what-not) you wear out the clutch more because the restrictor causes the clutch to slip because it can't put hydraulic pressure fast enough. i don't think in normal driving, it would be harmful. maybe even cause less wear, to the degree of the driver. but it seems as tho the restrictor would do more harm on hard launches then one without.

Anyone has more info on this? I've got the whole tranny out of the car right now and it would be the greatest time ever to do this.
I'm thinking the pill, would be a small piece of metal located in the slave cylinder assembly, close to the bleeder valve (it looks like it has a very small hole in the middle). Is that the part to remove? How do you remove it without damaging the assembly?
