Depends on if you find a wrecked lancer and could buy parts, or if you're hellbent on all new stuff.

Think that you need the transmission, and then interior bits as well...

lemmi put it this way

go to level ten performance and just make your auto better it will save you a lot of money i once looked into the same thing, lemmi guess mommy and daddy got it for you? lol yeh i understand same problem here but the cost far outweighs the benifits and in the end its the guy whith the most mods that wins the race anyway

I second everyone else's opinion ........... trade it in. Get the manual. I tried to do that with my ( now my ex's ) corolla and the dealer said that it would be nearly impossible. So basically

Another one of these? Why people why? It's ridiculous. It's impractical, expensive and time consuming. On a trade in, you're going to lose your butt on the difference to. Eek.

if you have no mods and no miles on it feel free to trade it in otherwise the money you lose will probably outweigh just changing it over to manual.

I feel your pain. The only reason I'm looking for a new car instead of putting more mods into my civic is because I was forced into an auto by my parents. From what I hear, the biggest problem is running all the stuff for the clutch peddle. The guy I talked to said that, to do it right, you pretty much have to replace everything below the dash.

Damn...wish someone would buy me a car...everything i own i had to work hard and buy with my own money.
back to the question now...level ten is the only one i know of that can do it but i believe there's is still a automatic that you can shift up and down gears when you want (like on newer high end cars) not a standard 5 speed

trance you think thats bad... i do the same, i save money for the car. i still end up getting an auto. its just ironic

rrozul09, youll need a new transmission which probably be 1k. labor work at the shop depending on how the people are, can run you from 1k-2k. but dont trade in your car!!!! youll probably get 9k-10k for your 2002 lancer.

Trance, Mitsu has a "sportronic" sequential gear box on it's Outlanders, Galants, and Eclipses, and maybe there will be one with the Ralliart Lancer, but, as of now, no Sportronic 4-spds for the Lancer.

The auto version of my car (the 2003 VR-X Lancer) comes with the INVEC II auto transmission that allows instant up/down shifting (not the crappy shift then wait 3 seconds for it to change like with other 'sports' autos)

Mite be something for you to look into. I know its the same transmission as on the magna (your diamete or something I believe)

Sorry to hear about the parents buying you an auto, guess its more incentive to get out and get a job
