idk what to do. i just spent 1400 on a fidanza flywheel, rrm stage 2 clutch, t.o.b., and install. now everytime i shift into 3rd gear above 2500 rpms yes 2500, it grinds horribly. its not only that but every other gear is hard to engage. before anyone says it, yes i used the mix of the red-line mt-90 and mtl. my car has 36300 miles on it, and its been nothing but problems since day one, and the worst part of it is that i dont even beat it up. my syncros are SHOT, ALREADY!!! my car never sees redline and only very very occasionaly sees 5k rpm.

heres my options:

1. sell it and buy something more reliable or way better. i.e. si, wrx, gsx, gst, rsx, gsr.
2. keep it and spend even more money (that i dont have) to fix this now.
3. dont fix it and just blow the tranny and spend even more money than option 2.
4. sell it and buy a wrecked or blown up eclipse gsx for 3000 and make it completely hooked up.
5. sell it and buy an already semi-hooked up car for about $8000

im sorry, i love my lancer, i reallllly love my lancer, but for an 18 year old kid still in school, i cant keep affording 1- 2000 dollar bills every 2 months. im over 4800 in debt now all due to this car and i even have a good job. and please dont tell me the gsx or gst will cost more cause i dont beat my cars, i know some friends with them and the only thing they have to replace is the tranny at like 90k and the motor at like 150k, but if i buy one for cheap with that stuff already blown itll be like having a new car when i fix it up. right now im leaning towards dumping it, cause i have over 20 grand in an econobox. dont get me wrong its a beautiful piece of sexy car but its costin way too much, even more than a turbo car.
please voice your opinion as im completely undecided as to what to do,

oh and sorry for the long post but im depressed and bored right now.

 

if its only got that many miles on it, then u should be able to find a mod friendly dealership and it should be covered under warranty. Try that before anything, I am pretty sure that theyre power train warranties are transferable.

 

id say sell the car and get a rex or rsx i wanna do the same but i gotta wait

 

nm, i fixed it. im so happy now. i checked my tranny oil and it was way low, i didnt replace it so not my fault, damn local dumb shop. i topped it off and it already feels a lot smoother.

 

Your lancer's resale value is worth nothing. Fix it up. Did you bleed the clutch? Getting new synchros or even trans is not that much. It's completely up to you but like you said you allredy have $4k debt so why go for even more by buying another car when your lancer will not be worth much.

 

how much dealerships giving for an 03 lancer? i would think at least 9k

 

37k miles he has on he would probably get about 9k but honestly I think it's nothing.
