~STAGE 2 cluch/ turn down stock flywheel?~

Hey everyone~

Well i just recenetely bought the stage 2 clutch from RRM was took it into the local shop here in town. I ask them if they could install the clutch for me, and they said yes without any hesitation. They told me to come back in a couple of days, which i did so they could set up everything and make sure everything checks out. To my surprise they told me since i'm using the stock flywheel (since i got the clutch, and the pressure plate) that they would have to take it my flywheel to another shop to get it "turned down" i was kinda' confused, 'cause i don't remember anyone having to get their stock flywheel, when running a stage to clutch, to get it "turned down". We set up a date later that day that they could install the clutch. But i wanted to ask on here first to see what you guys thought. I totally trust the guys at the shop. they do quality work/installs, and never screwed me before. Is this true what they say about "turning down" the stock flywheel when running the stage 2 clutch/pressure plate? Let me know....and thank you in advance!

~Dane~

i'm running with a stage II clutch but i don't have a stock flywheel...i've got the clutchmasters fly and i just did a straight install with it. no "turning down" ...i would imagine the stock one would be the same but i could be wrong.

they probably just wanna resurface the flywheel. its like what you need to do to your rotors.

Exactly... just like rotors with new pads... you gotta give the clutch a good surface to seat to. The old surface may have heat spots that could cause slippage or early wear on the new clutch.
