rev limiter

On the fly? I can't imagine a need for that, but I know there are piggyback units made specifically for the purpose of allowing higher revs. The only question in my mind would be whether the ECU and/or an aftermarket piggyback would have the capability to map fuel and spark at points beyond the stock fuel and ignition cut points. I'm sure it can be done (and has been done with some piggybacks, and certainly standalones), but I don't know exactly what qould be required. And quite honestly, I don't have the motivation or incentive to investigate further either. Non-FI cars and NA cars without fairly substantial modifications (I/H/E, cam at least) would probably not benefit very much from a higher redline.
I used to work on Supras alot, and if you disable the "Trac" system (easilly unclipping a wire basically), it will eliminate the Rev Limiter, enabling the Supra (stock) to top out @ 180mph...
Is there some sort of similar manner we can work with on the Lancers, by maybe disconnecting something which will disable the rev limiter?
