tranny....NEED HELP ASAP!

ok....eailer today car was hard to shift in and out of gears.....well tonight....the car wont shift into or out of gears when car is running. my thought is the trowout bearing....is this correct? i can turn the car off put it in 1st and start it up and it will drive in 1st....i can press the clutch in and push the gas and the car still accels....so im guess thorwoutbearing??? please HELP ASAP! i have a stage2 ACT, and lightweight flywheel....i have been hearing the "knock" from the thorwout bearing for some time now....can someone confirm my thought??

could it be cause of low fluid instead??? it shifts smooth when the car is off.

i did all the work myself to my car but i do not want to take the tranny to change the thorwout bearing again....so what is a good price to pay to have it done?

Get the fluid replaced first and see if that helps. If not take it to a shop.

did you change the TOB when you changed your clutch? How many miles on the new clutch?

yeah i changed thorw out bearing....and clutch has maybe 20000miles....but i drove from seattle to dallas 2 times on it....and that 2300miles both way....sooooo 15000 miles on clutch....and i dont race that much....and i never launch the car cause of gay wheel hop....and the clutch has had no signs of going out....been grabbing fine the past couple of days except for today.....my local friend told me to check the tranny fluid....casue i have a SMALLLLLL leak....but i guess its been more fluid than i though over time....so im checking it tommorw....and its leaking cause or my mistake i know where it is....i just need to re-seal it....

how bout your shifter rods? have they bent since dropping the tranny? when the engine is running, is the shifter stuck and can't move, or does it grind when trying to change gears?

ouch. sounds like synchros. get a second opinion and try changing your tranny fluid. when you do change your fluid, look for debris and metal shavings.

Not sure if this will help you but I was having trouble getting my car into gear after the clutch install.

The mechanic adjusted my pedal because he thought it may not have been properly disengaging the clutch. So far changing gears is much better although first gear is a little hard at times.

Can't tell you exactly what he did but he told me at the floor it was probably not fully disengaged.

if you look on the firewall, there is a circle thing that the clutch pedal hits. you can screw it up and down to adjust it.

and yeah, synchros can break all of a sudden, esp if fluid is low. but usually they wear down first.
